Help With Roman Shades
Roman shades can be made from fabric or woven wood. They are very practical since they can be raise or lowered quite easily. As a result, the Roman shades are very flexible in controlling the amount of natural light that can be infused into a room.
When the shade is lowered, it is flat. However, as the shade is pulled up, each section of the shade folds behind the other. Roman shades are usually mounted on a board that is attached inside a window frame or on a wall above.
Roman shades in and of themselves are very stylish. However, there are ways in which you can create more decorative touches with these shades. For example, a Roman shade with a scalloped hem and a valance top will give your windows a very elegant look.
There are two distinctive styles of Roman shades: the flat shade which rolls down flat; and the teardrop or hobbled shade wherein the fabric bunches together to form a teardrop effect. The flat shade is more traditional, while the teardrop shade is more contemporary. Both types of shades are available with continuous cord loop or the standard lift system. They will also complement any decor, whether casual or elegant.
The teardrop or hobbled Roman shades are preferred by many people because they never need to be adjusted to look neat and orderly after they are lowered.
You can achieve privacy and eliminate glare with the Roman shades, especially with a “top down bottom up” feature.
With this feature, you can raise your blinds from the bottom, and lower the shade from the top and the light is still able to penetrate your room.
